Meet Me At PodCamp AZ

Topic: Updates| No Comments »

Last year PodCamp AZ registered 100 participants but saw over 300 participants! It was only a one day event.

This year we have two full days with over 60 different speaking spots and over 30 speakers. Topics range from various types of media to how much is too much information shared.

Learn, meet new people, and just have a great couple of days playing with the cool kids in new media, old media, and whatever else presents itself! Come on out and share in the fun!

Check out Podcamp AZ.

During the New Media Expo, I had an idea come back to me. This idea has been rumbling around in my head for about a year. The details did not become clear to me until just recently and I am starting to move forward with it. This idea is a video podcast about makeup and skin care. I am working up my storyboards, lighting, and what is the best camera to use for this project.

Look for more in the future.

Hyatt Design

Oh, My, Goodness!

OK, well maybe goodness has nothing to do with Dragton*Con. This is a wild, wild weekend. Dragon*Con is considered one of the largest sci/fi and media event. I think the official numbers come in right around 30,000 however, It feels more like 60,000 in attendance. The convention spans four hotels, three of which are right next to each other and you cross the street get to the next hotel.

The Hyatt Regency Atlanta is where most of the attendees stay. The hotel has more than 1,200 rooms and sells out every year. Plus the rooms at the Marriott, Hilton, Sheraton and the other hotels around. The Hyatt is where we always stay. The elevators take so long because there are so many people that it can take 45 minutes to catch an elevator. Sometimes it is easier to take the stairs.

This was my second Dragon*Con. I didn’t see much of the convention because of a small two day party we put together for Podiobooks.com and it’s authors and listeners. I think the parties were a big success and we are starting the planning process already.

I enjoy Dragon*Con because of all my friends (old and new) I get to see. I posted more than 100 pictures. So here is my shoot out:
